川村 明子

1968年生まれ。1993年ニューヨークの美術大学School Of Visual Arts, Graphic Design学部、卒業時Rhodes Family Award受賞。帰国後、企業での勤務を経て1997年デザイン会Double Ow Eightを設立。大手企業のアートディレクションやブランディング、ロゴやパッケージデザイン、広告デザインを手がける。また、2000年ヴィーガンカフェの草分けCafe Eight創業（現エイタブリッシュ）2014年（株）Apollo&Char Companyを設立。グラフィックデザインを中心にBranding及び建築、インテリアデザインをコンセプトから立案する事業などを行っている。2020年Japan Heartを創立した医師吉岡秀人氏と共に社会貢献をスローガンに掲げるドッツウィル（株） 設立。
2023年にはエイタブリッシュがVEGAN Cafeとして麻布台ヒルズに出店するなど、グラフィックデザイン、プロダクト デザイン、ブランディング、インテリアデザイン、イラストレーター、社会貢献や地方創生の事業と活動は多岐に渡る。

Born in 1968, Akiko Kawamura graduated from the School of Visual Arts, New York, in 1993, receiving the Rhodes Family Award. After working in the corporate sector, she founded the design studio Double Ow Eight in 1997.
She has led art direction and branding projects for major corporations, spanning logo, packaging, and advertising design. In 2000, she launched the pioneering vegan café Cafe Eight (now 8ablish), and in 2014 established Apollo & Char Company Inc., expanding her practice to include branding, architecture, and interior design from concept to execution.
In 2020, she co-founded Dots Will Inc. with Dr. Hideto Yoshioka, focusing on social impact initiatives. Her multidisciplinary work continues to evolve, including the opening of 8ablish at Azabudai Hills in 2023.

Kawamura is also an author of three illustrated books, including Boku Apollo and Watashi Char (Little More), and Hakuchō to Nakama-tachi (Sekai Bunka Publishing).
